Advising the KME Group in relation to its debt financings.

Advising a privately-owned commodities trading group in relation to its trading, international joint ventures and other commercial transactions.

Acting as outsourced general counsel and project manager to a trade and commodity finance fund start-up.

Acting as outsourced general counsel to a high-tech financial services start-up specialising in the monitoring of commodity and other loan portfolios.

Acting as outsourced general counsel to family offices and family-owned businesses.

Advising financial institutions on their standard form trade finance documentation and on various aspects of their trade finance portfolios.

Advising the KAZ Minerals group on its financings and trading arrangements for more than two decades. Recent transactions include the company’s self-arranged USD1bn PXF facility, its borrowing base facility with Caterpillar Finance secured on equipment located in Kazakhstan, its facilities with Development Bank of Kazakhstan and China Development Bank for the development of the group’s mines in Kazakhstan and its exclusive trading arrangements with Advaita.

Advising the lenders on the pan-European borrowing base facility for the Petroplus group and on the group’s subsequent insolvency which resulted in 100 per cent. recovery for the lenders following the enforcement of security in six European jurisdictions.

Advising the lenders on their substantial European borrowing base facilities for the Essar group, the KME group, the Greenergy Fuels group, the Gunvor group and the Varo Energy group.

Advising Euler Hermes Garanties and Atradius as guarantee providers on the first of its kind syndicated VAT and customs guarantee issuance facility in respect of the tax liabilities of members of the Varo Energy group.

Advising the lenders on the first ever syndicated facility for Samruk-Kazyna.

Advising the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and its sovereign owned entities, including Ukrzaliznitsiya, Ukravtodor, Naftogaz, Ukrtelecom, Energoatom, Ukrkosmos, UkrAgroLeasing, Yuzhmash and Ukrtransnafta, on their international loan financings.

Advising the lenders on various significant facilities and/or restructurings for Ukrainian borrowers including Burisma, DTEK, Interpipe, Mriya and Zaporizhstahl.

Advising the lenders on award winning facilities for the Egyptian Advanced Systems Energy Group (ADES) secured on its on-shore and off-shore oil rigs and revenues in multiple jurisdictions in the Middle East.

Advising the banks on a supply chain finance transaction for the United Kingdom’s Government Banking Service for the purchase of receivables owing to pharmacies including Boots.

Advising the lenders on the project financing of a bagasse cogeneration plant for Belize Cogeneration Energy.
